Baseline recap September 10, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Matt Fink and Briton Noskoff connected against Claremont. The connection went for 78 yards, the longest such play in Baseline this season.
Marcellus Hunter of Alta Loma ran for the longest rushing play in the league this season against Montclair last week. Hunter ran for 70 yards on the play and finished with 147 on the day as his team defeated the Cavaliers.
Tyler Hilinski threw for 239 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was 21-27 with 2 interceptions.
Noskoff was the best receiver in the league this week as Glendora beat the Wolfpack. Noskoff tallied 3 receptions for 114 yards. Ryan Moore helped Glendora's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 58 yards.
Hunter was the best running back in Baseline this week. Daniel Velasco also contributed to the rushing game with 12 yards on the ground.
Hilinski put up the best numbers in passing as Upland lost to Oaks Christian. Hilinski's favorite target this week was Trevor Wright, who caught 7 passes for 81 yards.
The Highlanders/Scots' Hilinski and Wright have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Hilinski has thrown for 243 yards this season, while Wright has 10 catches for 205 yards. Alta Loma's Hunter leads the league in rushing yards with 175.
The Tartans were the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to second in the league. Glendora beat Claremont 23-15 earlier in the week.
