Meadowbrook is 0-9 against Highland Springs since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Meadowbrook comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 50-23, which was the final score in Meadowbrook's tilt against Dinwiddie on Thursday. Meadowbrook has struggled against Dinwiddie recently, as their game on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Highland Springs stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Varina, posting a 89-14 victory at home. Winning may never get old, but Highland Springs sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Highland Springs can attribute much of their success to Brianna Shelton, who scored 18 points, and Morgan Boyd, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Amirah Collins, who scored 13 points.
Meadowbrook dropped their record down to 0-15 with that loss, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.1 points per game. As for Highland Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Meadowbrook, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-36 loss to Highland Springs when the teams last played back in December of 2021.
