Northside is 4-0 against Bentonville West since March of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Northside Grizzlies will look to defend their home court against the Bentonville West Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Northside has ten straight wins, Bentonville West has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Northside didn't have too much trouble with Bentonville on the road as they won 52-38. Given Northside's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while Bentonville is ranked 33rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Erianna Gooden, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Northside's points. Hazley Grotjohn was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bentonville West had to suffer through a rough 65-31 loss at the hands of Bentonville.
Northside pushed their record up to 22-3 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Bentonville West, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Northside against Bentonville West when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 64-31 win. Will Northside repeat their success, or does Bentonville West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
