The Piedmont Classical Bobcats will head out on the road to square off against the Leadership Academy Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Piedmont Classical waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Bethany, posting a 86-22 victory at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Piedmont Classical has posted since December 15, 2023.
Piedmont Classical found their leader in underclassman Cameron Anderson, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ja'el Lawson, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Even though Leadership Academy has not done well against Cornerstone Charter recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Leadership Academy blew past Cornerstone Charter 62-29 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Leadership Academy who now have three in a row.
Piedmont Classical is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Leadership Academy, their win bumped their record up to an identical 10-8.
Piedmont Classical was able to grind out a solid win over Leadership Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 74-67. The rematch might be a little tougher for Piedmont Classical since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
