The Satellite Scorpions waltzed into Friday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They pulled ahead with a 65-64 photo finish over Astronaut. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Satellite to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael Otero, who scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Otero has scored at least 25% of Satellite's points. Zander Tantius was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Satellite's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Astronaut, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Satellite will be playing at home against Merritt Island at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Merritt Island is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Astronaut, they will head out on the road to face off against Bayside at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
