Northwest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Benning out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten assists. Jerome Henderson was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Lansing's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-7. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Northwest, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

Shawnee Mission North presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lansing in Kansas (Shawnee Mission North is ranked 111th, while Lansing is ranked 223rd). As for Northwest, Northwest and Highland Park will face off at 2:45 p.m. on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Highland Park's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
