Berean Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. 2025 welcomed they with a 72-48 loss courtesy of the Academy with Community Partners Lions. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Berean Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Morris, who made all 5 shots he took for 14 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Davion Johnson, who made all 5 shots he took to post 11 points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Berean Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Academy with Community Partners' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julian Garcia Rivera, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds. The game was Garcia Rivera's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Chatman, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 16 points.
