Nekoosa had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 20-run drubbing they dealt Mauston on Monday. The Papermakers put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 21-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Papermakers in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.

Bristal Brock made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sofia Gaupp, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Garza, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Nekoosa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .867. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Nekoosa's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Mauston, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19.
