The Cambridge Academy Cougars can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Wardlaw Academy as Cambridge Academy made off with a 67-47 win. Cambridge Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Jillian Mapes continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 5-for-8 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Indya Southerland was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Cambridge Academy's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Wardlaw Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cambridge Academy will face off against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Our Lady of the Rosary is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Wardlaw Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Newberry Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
