The Boardman Spartans will head out on the road to  square off against  the Gilmour Academy Lancers  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Boardman is coming into the  contest hot, having won their last 11 games.
Boardman proved they can win big  on Thursday (they won by three) and  on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-2  win over Louisville.
 The match was exciting from start to finish, as three sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 26-24, 25-22, 24-26,  15-8.

 Boardman's success was spearheaded by the efforts of   Sadie Satterfield, who  had 20  digs and two  aces, and   Gianna Commons, who  had ten  digs and two  aces. That's the most  digs  Satterfield has posted  over her last eight  matchups.  Addie Rudge also deserves some recognition as  she  served her first  aces of the season.
Meanwhile, Gilmour Academy made easy work of Hawken  on Tuesday and carried off  a  3-0 victory.
 Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Gilmour Academy took every set by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-11,  25-10.
 Boardman's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Gilmour Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of  Thursday's  match:  Boardman has really dialed in their serving  this season,  having  averaged 8.6  aces per game. However, it's not like Gilmour Academy struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 6.6  aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
