The School of the Ozarks Patriots's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Classical Saints at 12:00 p.m. on February 10th.
Last Tuesday, School of the Ozarks suffered a tough 59-37 loss at the hands of Chadwick. While losing is never fun, School of the Ozarks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while Chadwick is ranked 101st).
Classical was handed a 21-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Waverly on Tuesday. Classical sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 victory over Waverly. The victory was just what Classical needed coming off of a 48-27 loss in their prior contest.
Classical got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nevi Wilkey out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilkey has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Yost, who scored nine points along with five steals.
School of the Ozarks' defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5. As for Classical, they pushed their record up to 9-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
School of the Ozarks was able to grind out a solid victory over Classical in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 45-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for School of the Ozarks since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
