Alta Loma has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The Bonita Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alta Loma comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Friday, Alta Loma was beaten by Charter Oak 41-7. While losing is never fun, Alta Loma can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 625th, while Charter Oak is ranked 246th).
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Bonita had to settle for a 29-26 loss against Ayala on Friday.
Even though the team lost, they still came through with several impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jayden Montenegro, who gained 154 total yards. Cole Parra was in the mix as well, providing Bonita with two touchdowns.
The losses dropped Alta Loma to 1-7 and Bonita to 6-2.
Alta Loma might still be hurting after the 29-3 defeat they got from Bonita in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Can Alta Loma avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
