Basketball Recap: Vassar Drops Season-High Score on Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy

Vassar's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They snuck past the Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy Dragons with a 39-33 victory. The Vulcans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Vassar's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Makenna McCloud, who posted 14 points and six rebounds. What's more, McCloud also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Maya Mccloud, who had three points and 13 rebounds.

Vassar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

With the win, Vassar broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vassar will welcome Millington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy will take on Hill-McCloy in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
