The Northgate Broncos entered their tilt with the Concord Bears with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Northgate enjoyed a cozy 78-61 win over Concord on Friday. Given Northgate's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while Concord is ranked 1013th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Northgate was led to victory by Jake Andjus and David Harris. Andjus scored 16 points along with three steals, while Harris scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Louie, who scored 12 points.
Northgate is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Concord, they bumped their record down to 3-16 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northgate will challenge Ygnacio Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Ygnacio Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matchups. As for Concord, they will head out on the road to square off against Alhambra at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
