The Conway Springs Cardinals were the 55-47 winner over the Kingman Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Conway Springs took a 50-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles on Tuesday.
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Melissa Ebenkamp, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Ebenkamp has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Koester, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Conway Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Conway Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Kingman, their victory bumped their record up to 2-11-1.
Conway Springs will head out on the road to challenge the Owls at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Garden Plain is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Kingman, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Panthers. Independent presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in Kansas (the Panthers are ranked 27th, while the Eagles are ranked 321st).
