Central had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Ludlow on Thursday. The Golden Eagles put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Golden Eagles not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 20, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

While Central won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-10, 25-16.

Their offense was headlined by Mayanah Cabrera and Nevaeh Branyon, who picked up five kills apiece. Cabrera really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with ten. Yarielis Cordero controlled things from the service line, finishing with eight aces.

Central's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Central will head out on the road to face off against Putnam Vo-Tech at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Ludlow, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Wahconah Regional on the 6th.
