The Mid-Missouri HomeSchool Mavericks had already won 16 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points), and they went ahead and made it 17 on Thursday. They came out on top against Sunnydale Academy by a score of 47-36. Given Mid-Missouri HomeSchool's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the are ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kyle Aulgur was his usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Owen Hargis was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Mid-Missouri HomeSchool's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-2. As for Sunnydale Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mid-Missouri HomeSchool will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Knights at 7:15 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Sunnydale Academy, they will square off against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
