The Thatcher Eagles waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They strolled past Pima with points to spare, taking the game 64-47. Thatcher pushed the score to 45-22 by the end of the third, a deficit Pima cut but never quite recovered from.
Thatcher was led to victory by Isaac Palmer and Christian Carter. Palmer scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Carter scored 22 points along with seven assists and four steals. Carter is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Chad Johnson was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Thatcher's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Pima, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thatcher will take on Palo Verde at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Palo Verde focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Pima, they will play host again and welcome Scottsdale Christian Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Scottsdale Christian Academy is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
