The Bear River Bears lost against the Sky View Bobcats back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Bear River fell 37-26 to Sky View. While losing is never fun, Bear River can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Sky View is ranked 31st).
Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Saydee Pebley, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Shelby Wilkinson, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Bear River used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Sky View. And. Robbi Marble made the most of the opportunity, scoring three points along with two steals. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
It was another big night for Claire Fischer, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds for Sky View. Fischer has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karlee Allen, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Bear River has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Sky View, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-6.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Ridgeline the next time they take the court. Bear River will host Ridgeline at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Sky View will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
