Softball Recap: Milford Extends Winning Streak to Four

Milford hadn't done well against Delta recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Milford blew past Delta 19-8. Considering the Tigers have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jaidyn McMullin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. McMullin was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with two triples, two stolen bases, and five RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paizlee Florence, who scored six runs and stole a base while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Hadley Griffiths was another key player, going 4-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Milford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

The victory (which was Milford's fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.3 runs over those games. As for Delta, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milford will welcome Monticello at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Milford is facing Monticello at the right time seeing as Monticello is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Delta, they will be playing at home against Millard at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
