String Theory scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Maritime Academy Charter with a sharp 63-42 win. The win was nothing new for String Theory as they're now sitting on three straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead String Theory to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jason Pezzetti, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Pezzetti is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dawud Jones, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Maritime Academy Charter saw an underclassman step up: Zibri Miller dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Andy Figueroa was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Maritime Academy Charter struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
String Theory pushed their record up to 8-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Maritime Academy Charter, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
String Theory will head out on the road to challenge Germantown Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Maritime Academy Charter, they will be playing at home against Central at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Central has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 21.
