Willapa Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison Merkel led the charge by scoring 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. Another player making a difference was Tylar Keeton, who scored 5 points along with 10 rebounds and 5 blocks.
Meanwhile, Columbia Adventist Academy took a serious blow against Winlock on Thursday, falling 67-34.
The losses dropped Willapa Valley to 1-1 and Oakville to 0-3.
Everything went Willapa Valley's way against Columbia Adventist Academy when the teams last played back in February as Willapa Valley made off with a 45-20 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Willapa Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
