If Cathedral was riding high fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Carmel on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fighting Irish fell just short of the Lawrence North Wildcats by a score of 9-8 on Saturday. The Fighting Irish's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Eli Bennett was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bo Cooper, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI.

Cathedral's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Lawrence North, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-14.

Cathedral wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-4 loss against Harrison on the 24th. As for Lawrence North, they will challenge Indianapolis Arsenal Technical at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
