The biggest upset of the week belonged to San Marcos, who took down 351st ranked Mt. Carmel, 25-13.
Del Norte moved up to 403 from 433 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Valley. The Nighthawks climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Orange Glen 25-20.
The Sundevils' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kory Fox threw for 25 yards and Tevin Malone had 16 yards receiving. On the ground Fox chipped in 87 yards. Robbie Halliburton helped Mt. Carmel's passing attack out by catching one ball for six yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Drew Olson of the Knights is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1407. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. On the ground, Mt. Carmel's Halliburton has rushed for 648 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Malone. The Mt. Carmel star has 16 catches for 481 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Patriots take on Valley Center. Orange Glen is currently in third, while the Jaguars are in first.
Valley Center led Valley in scoring this week after putting up 32 points on Valley Center.
