The Windsor Wizards lost against the Pine Creek Eagles back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Windsor fell just short of Pine Creek by a score of 55-53. While losing is never fun, Windsor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Pine Creek is ranked 21st).
When it comes to explaining why Windsor lost, one person who can't be blamed is Reyleigh Hess. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds. Hess scored a full 39.6% of Windsor's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Gracie Worlsey, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals.
Pine Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooklyn Stewart led the charge by scoring 22 points along with 9 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Stewart has scored at least 25% of Pine Creek's points. Leekaya Burke-perryman was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 8 assists.
Windsor's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Pine Creek, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Windsor will head out on the road to face off against Horizon at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pine Creek's road trip will continue as they head out to face Legend at 5:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Hopefully Legend focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
