The Hill Hawks's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past Flint Academy 33-13. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hill also won the last time the pair played on January 8th.
Leading Hill to victory were Jonah Brown and Kevin Hudson. Brown dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds, while Hudson scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Hudson has scored at least a third of Hill's points. Another player making a difference was Chris Cardona-Barnes, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Despite the defeat, Flint Academy saw an underclassman step up: Joseph Lewis scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals. Lewis is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Olson, who scored two points along with five rebounds and five blocks.
Even though they lost, Flint Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hill only pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.
The win got Hill back to even at 4-4. As for Flint Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Methodist Children's Home the next time they take the court. Flint Academy will head out to face Methodist Children's Home on Monday, while Hill will host them at TBD on Friday.
