Emerson-Hubbard will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Mead at 7:00 PM. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Emerson-Hubbard and Mead will really light up the scoreboard.
Emerson-Hubbard had a rough outing against Plainview two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Emerson-Hubbard strolled past Cedar Bluffs with points to spare last Friday, taking the matchup 73-58. Yes, you read that final score correctly. Yes, this was football.
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Mead and Omaha Christian Academy. Mead put a hurting on Omaha Christian Academy to the tune of 70-12. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-6.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 2-2. In their win, Mead relied heavily on sophomore Calvin Muhlbach, who picked up 45 yards on the ground and accumulated 106 passing yards. Emerson-Hubbard will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
