Winfield fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Point Pleasant on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Big Blacks by a score of 3-2. The Generals' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Winfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Keiffer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Winfield's loss dropped their record down to 21-7. As for Point Pleasant, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-8.

While Winfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
