The Pewaukee Pirates will square off against the Jefferson Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Pewaukee 3.1, Jefferson 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Pewaukee is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Beaver Dam just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Golden Beavers by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Pirates have suffered since May 14, 2025.
Sydney Brewster was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Kennedy Tisdale was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Jefferson waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Trojans. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly four runs.
Natalie Weber was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Hannah Werning was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Milbrath, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Pewaukee, their loss dropped their record down to 16-6.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pewaukee hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Jefferson struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
