It was a good run, but Polytechnic unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a hard 58-43 fall against the Holy Martyrs Armenian Armens. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Armens are ranked 123rd).

Polytechnic's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Holy Martyrs Armenian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Polytechnic and Cabrillo will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Holy Martyrs Armenian, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Dos Pueblos at 7:30 p.m. on the 27th.
