Gooding has gone 8-2 against Filer recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Senators will look to defend their home field against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Gooding will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Gooding is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Weiser, who was ranked 12th at the time (Gooding was ranked 18th). Kodi Garza made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Day, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Filer lost 18-7 to Kimberly on Wednesday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kennedy Konkright and Addie Shank did some serious damage despite the final result: Konkright went 1-for-2 with three RBI, while Shank went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Filer's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Gooding, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Filer's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Gooding has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Filer, though, as they've been averaging only 3.5 strikeouts. Will Gooding keep running through batters, or will the Wildcats buck the trend?
