The South Harrison Hawks were the 90-60 winner over the Calhoun Red Devils when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. South Harrison was dealt a 63-19 loss at the hands of Calhoun on Friday.
Calhoun was led to victory by Owen Taylor and Landon Bennett. Taylor scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals, while Bennett dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Landon Church, who scored 9 points along with 4 steals.
South Harrison's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Calhoun, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Harrison will take on Gilmer County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Gilmer County and South Harrison are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Calhoun, they will be playing at home against Doddridge County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
