Natick (Mass.) extended its winning streak to eight games with a 32-14 victory over
Needham (Mass.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter, the Redhawks led 18-7 at the half.
Natick expanded its lead to 25 points entering the fourth quarter. The Redhawks scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown catch by
Andrew Boynton.
Boynton stood out for Natick in the win. The junior wide receiver caught one touchdown and kicked one extra point. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.
The Rockets'
Mike Panepinto played well. The junior running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown.
The Redhawks had given up an average of 10.0 points prior to the contest. Needham came in giving up 15.7 points per game this season. The Rockets struggled against Natick's offense, which entered the game scoring 34.4 points per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Redhawks came away with a 49-24 victory.
Natick (8-0) goes up against Wellesley in a Bay State - Herget game matchup next week, while Needham (5-3) locks horns with Framingham in a Bay State - Carey game.
