The 6-foot, 215-pound senior running back carried 32 times for 268 yards and four touchdowns, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Riview.
Shell, who is ranked No. 10 in the country by CBS/MaxPreps recruiting analyst Tom Lemming, has rushed for 2,033 yards this year. According to the Tribune-Review, he needs just 229 yards to break the state career rushing record of 9,027 yards by Jeremiah Young of Steelton-Highspire (Steelton, Pa.).
Shell told the Tribune-Review, "It really wasn't on my mind at all. I'm really not an individual player. I'm more worried about winning a championship as a team, because records only last so long in the book. But a championship, no one can ever take that away from you."
