Basketball Recap: Spencer Piles Up the Points Against Forest Park

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Spencer). They breezed past the Forest Park Panthers to the tune of 70-5 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Spencer's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malasia Armour, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds. Armour also posted a block, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Shamani Lewis, who posted seven points along with eight steals and six assists.

Spencer smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 38 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 20 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Spencer's record is now 7-3. As for Forest Park, they are on a 32-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Spencer and Wilkinson County will round out the year against one another at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Forest Park, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Utopian Academy for the Arts at 12:00 p.m. on January 2, 2026.
