It was a good run, but New Site unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Biggersville Lions by a score of 3-2. While the Royals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 25-11 in the first set.
New Site actually scored more points across those five sets (110-94), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 11-25, 15-25, 25-21, 25-23, 18-16.
Johna Kate Lindley paced New Site's offense, picking up six kills. Lindley got some help from Kendall Reese and her seven assists. Claudi Ann Brown controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
New Site's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Biggersville, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
Looking ahead, New Site will take on Jumpertown in a tournament on Saturday. As for Biggersville, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Alcorn Central at 6:00 p.m.
