The Dr. Phillips Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Wekiva Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dr. Phillips is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Dr. Phillips will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Lake Nona on Thursday. The Panthers blew past the Lions 13-3. Considering the Panthers have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Reagan Wimberly made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Wimberly was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Briana Lohr was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Liana Grosch, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Dr. Phillips always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Nona only posted an OBP of .316.
Meanwhile, Wekiva was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Orlando Christian Prep, falling 15-1.
Makenzy McIntosh made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
Dr. Phillips' record now sits at 5-9. As for Wekiva, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Wekiva's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Dr. Phillips hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. It's a different story for Wekiva, though, as they've only averaged .102. Will they be able to contain Dr. Phillips' hitters?
Dr. Phillips got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Wekiva by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
