The South Panola Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 13th straight defeat. They took a hard 56-39 fall against Center Hill. South Panola has not had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cameron Griffin, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Demartric Houston, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, South Panola smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. This was only their 14th loss (out of 16 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
South Panola's loss was their 11th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Center Hill, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season.
South Panola will stay at home for another game and welcome the Conquistadors at 2:30 p.m. on February 3rd. One thing working in Olive Branch's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten contests. As for Center Hill, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Mississippi (Grenada is ranked 95th, while the Mustangs are ranked 76th).
