On Wednesday, Bravo came up short against Flintridge Prep and fell 61-52. While losing is never fun, Bravo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 495th, while Flintridge Prep is ranked 57th).
Bravo's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Yamato Nguessan, who scored 24 points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Nunez, who scored 17 points.
Bravo has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Flintridge Prep, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bravo will square off against Artesia at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Artesia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Wednesday. As for Flintridge Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Bellflower at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bellflower's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
