The Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Wolves came tearing into Saturday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 79-61 win over Valley Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Western Sierra Collegiate Academy was led to victory by Daniel Vovc and John Harb. Vovc scored 22 points, while Harb scored 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harb has scored all season. Max Frantti was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Despite the loss, Valley Christian still got an impressive performance from Chase Clary, who scored 23 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Matthew Larson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Western Sierra Collegiate Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. As for Valley Christian, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-9.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Sacramento Adventist the next time they take the court. Western Sierra Collegiate Academy will host Sacramento Adventist at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Valley Christian will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
