High Point Central fell victim to Rockingham County's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 39-0 loss at the hands of the Cougars. While losing is never fun, High Point Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 336th, while Rockingham County is ranked 152nd).
Meanwhile, Ben L. Smith got themselves on the board against Southern Guilford on Friday, but Southern Guilford never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Storm 31-0 at home. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Ben L. Smith's six-point performance the game before.
Ben L. Smith's win bumped their season record to 3-4 while High Point Central's loss dropped theirs to 0-7.
High Point Central lost to Ben L. Smith at home by a decisive 35-20 margin in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will High Point Central have more luck at home instead of on the road?
