Grand Island scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 66-53 victory over Fremont. The victory was some much needed relief for Grand Island as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Grand Island had a senior duo take command as Mukadi Mukoma scored 25 points along with six rebounds and Evan McDonald scored 17 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McDonald has scored all season. Babur Choul was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Lincoln North Star entered their tilt with Lincoln East with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lincoln North Star breezed by Lincoln East at home to the tune of 73-46 on Tuesday. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, as Lincoln North Star did.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Jordan Castor and Carter Mick. Castor had a great game and scored 19 points along with three steals. Meanwhile, Mick was balling out in the loss, scoring 23 points.
Grand Island's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Lincoln North Star, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Thursday's match is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Grand Island have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 42.9% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Lincoln North Star struggles in that department as they've drained 43.3% of their threes this season.
