Having just played yesterday, the Crowley County Chargers will get right back to it and host the Swink Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Crowley County will head into Monday's game on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Swallows Charter Academy on Monday. Everything went Crowley County's way against Swallows Charter Academy as Crowley County made off with a 46-25 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-8.
Crowley County relied on the efforts of Alexis Rusher, who went 9 of 19 on her way to 18 points along with six steals and five rebounds, and Ashlyn Berg, who went 6 for 14 en route to 16 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamil Lovato, who posted two points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Swink's game on Saturday was all tied up 9-9 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past Las Animas with a 22-17 victory.
Swink's win came from a few key players Crowley County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jocelynn James, who put up nine points.
Swink has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points per game. As for Crowley County, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Crowley County has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Swink struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
