Landon Ward Has Career Rushing Day
Starting off the list is Willcox's Landon Ward, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Ward made three total tackles and defended four passes, good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 58 yards.
Willcox is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Ward and Willcox will challenge Benson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Bisbee picked up their fifth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Sebastian Lopez. Lopez was dynamite, throwing for 255 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes, while also rushing for 40 yards. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced a fumble, made eight total tackles, and defended three passes in addition to snagging an interception.
For the year, Lopez has thrown 14 touchdowns while averaging 209.4 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had nine passing touchdowns.

Benson picked up their third consecutive win on Saturday thanks in part to Flint Davis. Davis turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 150 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Benson pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Davis and Benson will play host again on Friday to welcome Willcox, where kickoff is scheduled at 7:00 p.m.

Tombstone picked up their third consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Jmiah Wallis. Wallis did his part (and then some), rushing for 148 yards and two touchdowns for the 'W'. His longest rush was for an incredible 85 yards.
Tombstone's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Wallis' next game is against Bisbee on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid performance.

On Friday, Tombstone got the W thanks in part to DJ Elias playing the best football he has all season. Elias rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 81 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards.
This year, Elias has thrown 6 touchdowns while averaging 118 passing yards per game.
