The Sierra Stallions fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Harrison by a score of 30-23 on Saturday. That's another feather in the cap for Sierra, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Shetara Roebuck continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Sierra's points.
Harrison's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Monet Brown, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Brown is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nyleen Brown, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, Harrison smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sierra only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Sierra's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Harrison, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13.
Sierra will challenge The Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Classical Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56 points per game this season. As for Harrison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Palmer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
