Basketball Recap: Johntta Thomas Key Part of a Team Effort in Lobos Win

There's no place like home for Cesar E. Chavez, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against the Pro-Vision Academy Warriors on Saturday as the Cesar E. Chavez Lobos made off with a 63-38 win. With that victory, the Lobos brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.

Cesar E. Chavez's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Johntta Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. Those 23 points gave Thomas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Samad Naylor-Walters, who posted 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals.

Cesar E. Chavez smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

Cesar E. Chavez is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Pro-Vision Academy, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
