New Life Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaleb James led the charge by scoring 20 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaheim Faison, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Elevation Prep Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 80-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Life Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, Elevation Prep Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while New Life Christian Academy is ranked 163rd).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was TYLER CRIDER, who scored 17 points along with six assists and three steals. JAYLEN THOMAS was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
New Life Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 16-13. As for Elevation Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.
Saturday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: New Life Christian Academy have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 54.1% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Elevation Prep Academy struggles in that department as they've made 40.6% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
