Baseball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Green's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Green unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 5-2 to the Southern Tornadoes. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Bobcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Landon Kimbler was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Kimbler was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Kimbler wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Noah McMackin, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Quincy Merrill also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Green's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Southern, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Green will square off against Clay at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Southern, they will head out on the road to take on Waterford at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
