The Dove Creek Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Nucla Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Dove Creek's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matches.
Dove Creek's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Centennial. That looming 16-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

Frankey Montoya was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Montoya was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Cael Beanland was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Dove Creek's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-3 (and 2-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Hassell, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Dove Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Nucla didn't have quite enough to beat Sargent on Friday and fell 6-5.
Dove Creek has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Nucla, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dove Creek has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Nucla struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Dove Creek was able to grind out a solid victory over Nucla in their previous matchup on April 9th, winning 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
