The Davison Cardinals had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top against Powers Catholic by a score of 77-66. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Powers Catholic's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javontae Ross, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Ross is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Connor Kelly was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Davison's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Powers Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-3.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Midland the next time they take the court. Powers Catholic will head out to face Midland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Davison will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
